Job summary

Ambient Enterprises is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to support its growing service business. You’ll diagnose, service and repair HVAC systems and controls for a variety of applications, and you will service the Wilmington, Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and South NJ areas.

Candidates should have 5+ years of field experience, EPA Refrigeration license, and preferably HVAC Journeyman Certificate or NATE certification; a valid driver’s license is required and on-call rotation is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of HVAC service experience.
• Effective interpersonal skills for professional customer interaction.
• On-call rotation availability.
• Forklift operation ability.
• EPA Refrigeration License, HVAC Journeyman Certificate or NATE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex HVAC and control systems; test, service and maintain these systems.
• Provide field recommendations for retrofits or upgrades; assist sales with technical insights.
• Interface with service/project managers and subcontractors to coordinate activities.
• Provide sketches of field changes for engineering corrections; assist with layouts and bids.
• Perform startup and train customers in HVAC equipment and controls; setup controllers and complete job documentation.
• Use manufacturer/vendor websites to locate technical docs and parts; advise on substitutions.

Job Description

Role: HVAC Service Technician

We are searching for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to help support the growing service business. You’ll specialize in the start-up and service of equipment for a variety of applications of air-conditioning, heating, ventilation, humidity control and energy management. You must be able to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, be dependable and have good customer service skills. This role would service our Wilmington/Philadelphia/King of Prussia/ South NJ areas.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex HVAC and control systems, apply extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems, and ability to test service and maintain these systems.


• Provide field recommendations for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment. Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.


• Interfaces with Service manager, project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities.


• Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.


• Perform Startup and trains the customer in HVAC Equipment and control systems operations. In addition to mechanical system startup, setup configurable controllers and complete manufacturer and all BSS job specific documentation and submit to the office.


• Knowledge and use of manufacturer/vendor websites and catalogs in order to find technical documentation, and replacement parts stock numbers as well as advise customers on substitution or modification of replacement parts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.


• 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience in servicing HVAC systems.


• Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.


• Participate in On-Call Rotation as necessary


• Ability to operate fork truck


• HVAC Journeyman Certificate (preferred)


• NATE certification (preferred)


• EPA Refrigeration License


• Valid driver's license


• BSS & Customer Jobsites Require passing Criminal Background Checks and Drug Testing

Estimated Salary

$35 hourly - $55 hourly depending on experience
