Job summary

Tulley Automotive Group, Inc. is seeking Automotive Technicians to diagnose problems, perform maintenance, and repair vehicles brought in for service.

You will work in a dealership setting focused on customer service excellence and automotive proficiency. Responsibilities include diagnosing systems, performing oil changes and inspections, testing with diagnostic tools, and communicating with the Service Advisor to plan additional work.

Qualifications

  • Valid driving license and acceptable driving record.
  • Current ASE certification, or ability to attain certification.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and repair techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems.
  • Performs maintenance procedures like oil changes and tire rotations.
  • Tests components with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
  • Communicates with the Service Advisor about needed work.
  • Performs state inspections and warranty work per specifications.

Job Summary:

Automotive Technicians are responsible for diagnosing problems with vehicles, performing maintenance, and repairs on our client’s cars that come in for service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning;
  • Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards;
  • Performs maintenance procedure, including oil changes, fluid level checks, tire rotations, etc.;
  • Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment;
  • Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs;
  • Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications;
  • Suggest other services or repairs as necessary;
  • Performs test drives as needed;
  • State-regulated vehicle inspections;
  • Communicates directly with the Service Advisor and/or Service Dispatcher so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed;
  • Performs other related duties consistent with the role; this does not preclude management from assigning additional, though unrelated, duties.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques;
  • Effective problem-solving skills are crucial for diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues;
  • Ability to work in a team environment efficiently;

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Required Education / Experience / Certifications:
  • Valid Driving License and acceptable Driving Record History;
  • Acceptable Background Record;
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques;
  • Current ASE certification, or ability to attain certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects like engines, transmissions, tires, parts, etc. (up to 50 pounds);
  • Fine motor skills, such as manipulating small parts, using hand tools, and working with precision;
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb to access various parts of a vehicle;
  • Visual acuity for identifying problems, reading gauges, and working with small parts;
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, and reaching.
