Job description

KenMor Electric Company is an electrical contractor with proven expertise on large-scale construction projects. Its management team guides clients through all phases of planning, design, construction and project management for commercial, industrial and institutional markets. KenMor's work ranges from office buildings and multiuse developments to stadiums, arenas, shopping centers, restaurants, hospitals and industrial plants.

The KenMor team in Houston is searching for a skilled Electrical Service Technician to work in a fast paced construction environment, servicing a variety of large commercial projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Models the KenMor standard of excellence to achieve, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility.
  • Understands and demonstrates safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Familiar with NEC, NEMA, NFPA, and OSHA code compliance.
  • Assists production areas with mechanical and electrical equipment trouble-shooting and finding root-cause for reoccurring downtime.
  • Provides trouble-shooting assistance for equipment.
  • Maintains project and equipment files including as-built drawings and spare parts documentation.
  • Integrates new components or systems such as instruments, controls, machines, and mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Plans the fabrication of panels and equipment for systems improvements.
  • Coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to manufacturing requirements.
  • Researches products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software to solve operational issues and draft purchase requests.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology, related degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three years’ work experience performing similar key position responsibilities for an electrical technician exceeding performance expectations.
  • Experience running EMT and rigid conduit.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and leadership skills.
