Job summary

Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Earthmoving New Prep Shop Service Technician in Tonawanda, NY. Technicians load and unload trucks, assemble new equipment for delivery, and maintain the rental fleet.

They may work after hours to handle emergencies or routine service as required. This union position offers pay: $30.15–$40.36 per hour, depending on location and experience, with a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, disability & life

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related field is required or preferred.
• Experience on CAT heavy equipment or similar equipment.
• Proficient with mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics).
• Proficient in the use of a computer and related software.

Responsibilities

• Performs assembly of new equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs of rental fleet equipment.
• Install, test, and adjust new machine attachments.
• Orders replacement parts ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepares, inspects and operates machines prior to delivery.
• Keeps up to date with tooling, technologies and systems.
• Prepares inspection and appraisal reports.
• Prepares accurate and complete service reports timely.
• Maintain professional appearance per company policy.
• Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Overview

Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Earthmoving New Prep Shop Service Technician. Technicians are responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks, the assembly of new equipment for customer delivery, and the maintenance of the rental fleet. Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required.

Pay Rate: Minimum starting wage of $30.15 - $40.36 per hour based on location and experience. This is a union position.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

• Associates degree in a related field.
• Experience on CAT heavy equipment or similar equipment.
• Proficient in mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.).
• Proficient in the use of a computer and related software.
• Strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
• Able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.
• Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
