Service Technician - Diesel (Tuesday-Saturday)

Join the award-winning team at Kenworth Sales Co., named the 2020 Kenworth Dealer of the Year! We are a leading dealership group with 37 locations, specializing in Kenworth and Isuzu trucks, and are seeking a Service Technician to join our Manassas, VA team.

Job Summary

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday; 7:30am-4pm

The primary role of the Service Technician is to perform high-quality repairs on customer equipment and recommend additional services as appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Receive repair order assignments from the Shop Foreman.
2. Perform repairs efficiently and thoroughly, maintaining high workmanship standards.
3. Advise the Shop Foreman of any recommended changes or additional repairs for customer approval.
4. Maintain current knowledge and skills with specialized equipment and servicing techniques.
5. Attend required training sessions.
6. Address any repairs needed due to faulty workmanship.
7. Keep accurate records of work performed and time spent.

Qualifications

1. 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
2. Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
3. VA State Inspector certification or willingness to obtain.
4. Valid Class A or B CDL or willingness to obtain.
5. Certifications in Paccar, Cummins, and CAT or willingness to obtain.
6. Motivated, self-reliant, and team-oriented.
7. Ability to operate tools safely.
8. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
9. High school diploma or equivalent.
10. Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions.
