Service Technician Role

Pay: $23/Hour  Location: Chicago, IL

Hours: Monday‑Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

About the Role

As a Service Technician, you install, maintain, repair, and sometimes relocate our smart fridges. Each fridge has mechanical and technological components, and you will be proficient in both. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, and driving within a 3.5‑hour radius on a weekly basis is expected. All applicants must pass a TSA Background Check for airport badging.

Responsibilities

• Complete Department of Health inspections of fridges.
• Build and deploy fridges – install, move, and remove units.
• Conduct quarterly audits and preventive maintenance, checking on fridges.
• Perform other duties as needed, such as stocking or removing food on occasion.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Ability to use hand tools such as drills and pliers.
• Familiarity with basic technology: use tracking apps and basic OS commands on the fridge.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Experience working with refrigerated vending machines – preferred.
• Basic experience with business applications.

Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods of time (up to 10‑hour shifts).
• Lift and pull objects in excess of 100 lbs with assistance.
• Carry objects up to 50 + lbs frequently.
