The Propane Service Technician Apprentice is an entry-level role designed for individuals seeking to build a career in the propane service industry. This position is part of a structured, multi-year development program focused on training, certification, and hands‑on field experience. Apprentices work under the direct supervision of experienced technicians, gradually gaining the skills, licenses, and certifications necessary to advance to being able to work independently in the field. This role is the first step in a 4‑year career path.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in company onboarding and safety training.
• Shadow experienced technicians in service, delivery, and cylinder/tank operations.

Upon successful completion of the two‑year apprenticeship, individuals may be promoted to LP Service Technician I, with opportunities for long‑term career growth into advanced technical and supervisory positions.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the office can be loud. While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
