Job summary

TRI GAS & OIL CO INC in Maryland seeks an LP Service Technician II to lead field service calls, install and test propane systems, and provide an exceptional customer experience. You will troubleshoot heating and LP equipment, and work as part of a team in a dynamic, field-based role.

Candidates must hold a Class B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements, a Gas Fitter License, and 2–3 years LP service experience. On-call shifts and safety procedures are part of the job, with potential for growth.

Qualifications

  • Must have a clean driving record with a Class B CDL and hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Gas Fitter License required or must obtain.
  • 2–3 years LP service experience or related field experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the service call and deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Clean and service LP equipment during field visits.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair heating and LP equipment and tanks.
  • Install and test propane lines and propane powered appliances.
  • Be on call as needed and cross-train for deliveries when required.

Summary

The LP Service Technician II is responsible for leading the service call, delivering a desired customer service experience, and driving service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability. Responsibilities include site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the service call and deliver a desired customer service experience.
  • Clean and service LP equipment during field visits.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair heating equipment, LP equipment, and tanks.
  • Install and test propane lines and propane powered appliances.
  • Work as a team member and provide customer satisfaction when needed.
  • Follow all company field procedures and protocols.
  • Cross‑train and drive bobtail to make deliveries when required.
  • Be on call as needed.
  • Perform site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
Qualifications
  • Must have a clean driving record with a Class B CDL and hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Must have a Gas Fitter License.
  • Must be able to obtain or pass PERC Certifications and CETP (Certified Employee Training Program).
  • Must have 2‑3 years of LP service experience.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills.

Working Conditions & Expectations

This position operates in the field and requires driving a company vehicle. The employee will be entering customers’ homes and/or places of business, working in hot attics or cold places, and must always provide an excellent and positive attitude toward the customer. While performing duties, the employee is occasionally exposed to small working spaces, fumes, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and a variety of extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, pull, kneel, crouch or crawl, and may need to be in restrictive spaces such as an attic or a crawl space. The employee must occasionally pull, lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
