In this entry-level position, the Propane Service Apprentice will learn from experienced technicians all of the functions, tasks, and skills necessary to progress to a Service Technician. The Apprentice will learn all aspects and processes involved with the efficient, safe, and successful delivery of services to residential and commercial customers.

Key responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Attend introductory training sessions, including Hazmat OSHA and Basic CETP Principles.
• Work alongside technicians, assisting with equipment service, piping installations, and heating and cooling equipment installs.
• Perform safety checks, leak and pressure tests, and appliance servicing.
• Install, maintain, and service oil/natural gas/propane/electric appliances.
• Operate a crane and dolly to maneuver tanks.
• Inspect and repair equipment at customer sites.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently, conforming to guidelines and codes.
• Support warehouse and inventory tasks as needed.
• Lift or move heavy objects.
• Work outdoors in various weather and driving conditions.

Required Skills:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience with hand tools, electrical, plumbing, maintenance, or carpentry.
• Ability to obtain CDL, Hazmat, and Tanker certifications.

Preferred Skills:

• Technical schooling in HVAC or Propane.
• Motivation to learn and grow in fieldwork skills.
• Clean driving record.
• Possession of a Commercial Driver's License.
• Strong communication skills.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, team-oriented, and responsible.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for positive customer interactions.
