Job summary

Certain Services, Inc. is seeking a motivated Service Technician Apprentice to begin a hands-on career in residential water treatment and plumbing. You will work alongside experienced technicians to learn installation, service, and maintenance of filtration, purification, and related equipment.

You will develop troubleshooting skills, learn to diagnose issues, and gain familiarity with safety procedures and company processes while delivering professional customer service on site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical, plumbing, electrical, construction, or technical experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain proficiency with computerized systems and other technologies as required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with the installation, service, and maintenance of residential water treatment systems, including filtration, purification, softening, and related equipment.
• Learn proper troubleshooting techniques, system testing procedures, and repair methods.
• Develop the ability to diagnose system issues and understand recommended solutions.
• Assist with on-site installations, equipment setup, and completion of service work according to company standards.
• Learn and follow manufacturer specifications, safety procedures, and documented company processes.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service while representing the company.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Service Technician Apprentice who is interested in developing a career in the water treatment and plumbing industry. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, learning new skills, and providing excellent customer service.

This position provides hands-on training while working alongside experienced technicians to develop technical knowledge, customer service skills, and industry experience needed to advance into a Service Technician role.

Who You Are

• Safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and work in various residential environments.
• Maintain compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Customer Education & Sales Development

As part of the technician development process, the Service Technician Apprentice will learn how to educate customers regarding water quality concerns, system operation, maintenance recommendations, and available solutions.

The Apprentice Will Develop The Ability To

• Understand customer concerns and identify potential water treatment solutions.
• Explain system benefits, maintenance needs, and recommended improvements.
• Assist experienced technicians with customer consultations and solution presentations.
• Develop the communication skills necessary to confidently recommend products and services that provide value to the customer.

Sales responsibilities will increase as technical knowledge, product understanding, and customer communication skills develop.
