Overview
Service Technician (AHU) – Nationwide, Remote
A leading innovator in sustainable HVAC technology is seeking a hands-on Service Technician (AHU) to join their high-performance team. This role offers the opportunity to represent a growing, tech-forward manufacturer on-site with customers across North America, ensuring exceptional system performance and service quality.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist with site activities including AHU rigging oversight, placement validation, and mechanical systems verification.
- Support on-site knockdown reassembly for AHUs shipped in modular sections.
- Lead or support unit pressure/leakage testing to meet performance standards.
- Execute system start-ups, validate components (e.g., fans, coils, VFDs, actuators, sensors), and verify airflow and motor function.
- Interface with Building Management Systems (BMS) using BACnet, Modbus, and similar protocols.
- Troubleshoot and correct issues across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Conduct or assist with warranty repairs and prepare root cause analysis reports.
- Provide comprehensive owner training and system documentation at handover.
- Complete all required field reports, test logs, service records, and punch lists.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of field experience in HVAC service or commissioning, particularly involving custom or large-scale mechanical systems.
- Proven skills in startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning of components including VFDs, sensors, and actuators.
- Comfortable interpreting mechanical/electrical drawings and installation manuals.
- Previous supervisory or field leadership roles are advantageous.
- Familiarity with BMS integration and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.).
Requirements
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Open to 100% travel across the U.S. and Canada.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in mechanical environments.
