Job summary

Lithia Hyundai of Reno is seeking a Service Technician to perform repairs per repair orders, diagnose issues, and ensure safety standards. The role requires 5+ years of dealership experience, diagnostic skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, flat-rate environment.

We offer competitive pay with up to $40.00 per hour, a Monday–Friday schedule with one rotating Saturday per month, and opportunities to earn certifications and advance your career within the Lithia & Driveway family.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of dealership automotive technician experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to obtain ASE or manufacturer certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs per repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and determine root causes.
• Complete work safely per standards and guidelines.
• Road-test vehicles to verify quality of repairs.
• Record time spent and document procedures on repair orders.
• Maintain organized workspace and tools.

What You'll Do

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on repair order and document test procedures/results.
• Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools to include screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the service department as "special tools".
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.
• Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Complete all required training.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
• Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management.

What You'll Bring

• 5 + years of dealership automotive technician experience required; Hyundai experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to efficiently identify and repair vehicle concerns.
• ASE certifications or manufacturer certifications preferred (or a willingness to obtain them).
• Proficiency in performing routine maintenance, drivability, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality expertise with attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, flat-rate environment while maintaining productivity.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively with service advisors and fellow technicians.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid's driver's license in your state of residence.
