Job summary

Gills Point S is seeking an experienced Service Technician II to inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles, ensuring customers leave confident in safety and performance.

You will mount, balance, rotate tires, perform TPMS service, and handle preventative maintenance tasks in a fast-paced shop environment, while delivering strong customer service and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Automotive, tire, or mechanical experience is preferred.
• Technical or vocational automotive training is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean record is required.
• Familiarity with tire mounting, balancing, and repair equipment is expected.
• Strong attention to detail and safety mindset required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to lift heavy tires and work in fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles to ensure safety and performance.
• Mount, dismount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on passenger and light trucks.
• Perform TPMS service and understand wheel configurations and tire specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance: oil/filter changes, fluid checks, and filter replacement.
• Identify and perform light mechanical repairs (brakes, suspension, steering, wipers, batteries, lights).
• Explain inspection findings and maintenance recommendations to customers.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and assist with inventory and shop organization.

What You'll Do

As a Service Technician II, you'll inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles while ensuring every customer leaves with confidence in the safety and performance of their vehicle.

Tire Services

• Mount, dismount, balance, rotate, and repair passenger and light truck tires.


• Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.


• Recommend tire replacement and maintenance based on vehicle condition.


• Perform TPMS service and understand wheel configurations, bolt patterns, valve stems, and tire specifications.

Preventative Maintenance

• Perform oil and filter changes.


• Inspect and top off vehicle fluids, including coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid.


• Perform coolant, brake, and transmission fluid exchanges.


• Replace air, cabin, and fuel filters.


• Complete comprehensive vehicle inspections and communicate findings.

Basic Mechanical Repairs

• Perform light mechanical repairs and replacements, including:

• Recognize dashboard warning indicators and identify potential maintenance concerns.

Customer Service

• Explain inspection findings and maintenance recommendations.


• Maintain accurate service documentation.


• Assist with inventory, receiving, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Automotive, tire, or mechanical experience preferred.


• Technical or vocational automotive training is a plus.


• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.


• Familiarity with tire mounting, balancing, and repair equipment.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.


• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
