Job summary

Clean Energy is seeking a field service technician to maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment at fueling locations. The role includes inspecting, repairing, and documenting work to ensure safe operation and compliance with guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma and basic mechanical/electrical knowledge, with comfort using service software. Must be able to travel between sites and lift up to 25 pounds.

Job Details

Day shift, either Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday.

Pay range: $28.00 to $42.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Electrical:
Inspect, maintain, and adjust electrical equipment such as electrical wiring, conduit, panels, switch gear, switches, gauges, transducers, solenoids, gas dryers, actuators, motors, meters, frequency drives, and controls for safe and proper operating condition.
Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore proper operating condition as specified in regulations and repair manuals.

Mechanical:
Inspect, maintain, and adjust mechanical equipment such as compressors, pumps, engines, intercoolers, after coolers, heat exchangers, piping, tubing, fittings, filters, traps, gas dryers, fasteners, valves and actuators for safe and proper operating condition.
Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore proper operating condition as specified in regulations and repair manuals.

General:
Make periodic inspections of CNG and/or LNG fueling locations and equipment to determine proper and normal operating conditions.
Detect and correct faulty and malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components related to CNG, LNG, and Hydrogen fueling equipment.
Clean and maintain fueling locations by picking up trash, emptying trash cans and dumpsters, hand cleaning and polishing fueling equipment, painting, canopy, lots, islands, and surrounding landscaping inside and outside of enclosures.
Update and document all activity, service orders, work performed, and recommendations in our Field Service Automation (FSA) software. Must be comfortable working on computer and tablets.
Install, remove and modify fueling locations and equipment.
Maintain all fueling related equipment and structures in accordance with manufacturer and Clean Energy guidelines.
Drive to or between company sites to perform job responsibilities.
Coverage at other stations in neighboring states may be required due to business needs.
Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

High School Diploma (preferred) or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of related or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have basic Mechanical or Electrical foundation knowledge
  • Must have basic computer knowledge, especially using service software
Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Physical Demands

Job requires frequent walking and sitting. Regular standing, climbing, and driving. Regular use of hands, fingers, and arms. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move up to 75 pounds. Lifting over 50 pounds may require mechanical and/or second technician assistance. Moving over 75 pounds will require mechanical means or additional employee assistance.

Work Environment

Work occurs in vehicles and fueling locations. Regularly exposed to moderate to high noise levels. Safety guidelines and judgment are critical.
