Job summary

Kansas Ag Connection is seeking a Service Technician for on-site work in Kansas. The role covers service, repair and pre-delivery setup of customer equipment as well as warranty repairs, performed in shop or on-site in the field.

Expect to work full-time, 40 hours weekly, with overtime after 40 hours. Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems is required, along with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Certificate in Diesel Technology.
  • 4+ years of diagnosing and repairing agricultural equipment, preferably application equipment.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Trouble Shooting & Diagnosing: identify failures and verify repairs in the field or shop.
  • Repairing & Confirming: complete electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and diesel repairs.
  • Meeting and Exceeding: achieve labor, efficiency and rework targets.
  • Documenting and Submitting: finalize work orders accurately and timely.
  • Collaborating & Communicating: coordinate with team to reach results.
  • Being Safe & Train: maintain safe workspace and continuous learning.

Competitive hourly wage

Full-time: 40 hours per week

Nonexempt: overtime pay after 40 hours/week

Location: On site at Application Center in Great Bend, Kansas

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5, Weekends as need

Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for the service, repair and pre-delivery set up of customers and internal application equipment as well as warranty repairs. The diagnosing and repair of application equipment will be completed in the shop or in the field. All service work is to be completed at high level of efficiency. The Service Technician is expected to have a strong working knowledge of application and precision equipment.

Duties:
  • Trouble Shooting & Diagnosing: Use your skills to identify failures and confirm repairs with equipment and recommend service for continued equipment reliability.
  • Repairing & Confirming: Complete and check electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and diesel repairs on equipment to customer satisfaction.
  • Meeting and Exceeding: Perform quality service work and attain collectable efficiency, billable efficiency, labor sales, and rework goals.
  • Documenting and Submitting: Complete work order and forms for service operations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborating & Communicating: Consistently focusing on how we all succeed and seek ways to communicate, work together, to generate expected results.
  • Being Safe & Train: Maintain a clean and safe working environment and continually improve and learn in ways that strengthen our performance and expand opportunities.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Achieve service goals (Labor Sales, Billing Efficiency, Collectible Efficiency, Rework)
  • Comprehend and interpret technical service manuals and schematics.
  • Reliable trouble shooting skills in electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment safely in the service shop and in the field.
  • Ability to work seasonally extended hours during the week or weekends.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds as required without assistance.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment drug screening
  • Associates or Certificate in Diesel Technology.
  • 4+ years of diagnosing and repairing agricultural equipment, preferably application equipment.
