Job Description

M&P Survey is currently looking for a Service Technician to join our team based at our main office in Ellesmere Port. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary starting from £25,500 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Company

M&P are a Leica Geosystems main UK dealer and part of the Hexagon group. We are a progressive company supplying survey solutions to civil engineering, construction, and land surveying industries. We specialize in bringing innovative technology to market, including advanced GNSS, mobile mapping, 3D laser scanners, UAVs, and total station solutions for geospatial professionals.

About the Service Technician Role

The Service Technician is a key role within Hexagon Geosystems. You will provide comprehensive, efficient, and courteous service to our customers, and support our external sales teams with administrative tasks to improve efficiency and drive service revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Service, repair, and calibration of a variety of surveying equipment to manufacturer specifications.
  2. Conduct fault diagnosis at module or component level as required.
  3. Coordinate with logistics and repairs teams to facilitate timely processing of instruments.
  4. Ensure all tooling is within calibration.
  5. Maintain an average turnaround time in line with company objectives.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  7. Adhere to ESD procedures.
  8. Manage stock control of spare parts.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic repair, calibration, and working with delicate components.
  • Experience with computer diagnostics, firmware updates, and procedures.
  • Relevant experience may include service and repair of survey equipment, mobile phones, watches, or other electronic items.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to manage conflicting demands.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and represent the company professionally.
  • Knowledge of SAP or Syrinx is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
