Job summary

Merle Stone Chevrolet Buick GMC is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our growing team in Porterville, CA. The ideal candidate will have ASE certification and 2+ years of GM experience, plus a solid background in diagnosing repairs and performing work on repair orders.

You will test-drive vehicles, use diagnostic tools, communicate with the Service Advisor about needed repairs and warranties, and contribute to a busy, customer-focused service department with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• GM experience is required.
• ASE certified is required.
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair.
• Two or more years GM experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional needed repairs and provide time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Job Summary

We are looking for a service Technician to join our growing team! The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and ASE certified. GM experience is required. The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of GM experience required
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
