Job summary

KDC Construction in Orange County, CA is seeking a Service Technician to handle a high volume of repair and maintenance service orders ranging from minor handyman tasks to medium commercial renovations. You will work independently with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and drywall skills while ensuring a positive customer experience and safety.

This role requires a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends, and you must have your own tools and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must have a flexible schedule and work some nights and weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General trade with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and drywall.
• Must possess the vehicle and tools required to perform job functions.
• Ability to interact with a diverse customer roster.
• Carefully consider cost/benefits and demonstrate problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Services work orders at various customer locations.
• Performs requested minor equipment and building repairs.
• Respond to Priority 1 emergency safety concerns for employees or customers.
• Maintain daily updates detailing visits, on-site times, and schedule changes.
• Document daily activity with photos and respond to management inquiries.
• Assist with updating store-level facility records and paperwork.
• Maintain personal tool inventory and vehicle/parts inventory.
• Inspect and troubleshoot systems to identify repairs.
• Travel to different worksites to complete tasks.
• Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental Program requirements.

The Service Technician performs tasks and responds to a high volume of repair and maintenance service work orders ranging from minor handyman type repairs to medium commercial renovation projects. The Service Technician can work independently with minimal supervision and have a variety of construction skillsets, including but not limited to basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and drywall. The Service Technician must be focused on delivering a positive experience to the customer and always focused on continual improvement for the customer experience and satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

• Services work orders at various customer locations.
• Performs requested minor equipment and building repairs.
• Respond to Priority 1 emergency safety concern requests for employees or customers, health department shut-down, city official shut-down, or substantial impact on sales.
• Responsible for daily updates detailing store visits, on-site times, and schedule changes.
• Documents daily work activity, appropriately photographs existing job site conditions/work completion, and responds to management team inquiries.
• Assists with updating store-level facility records by submitting all completed paperwork as required.
• Maintains personal tool inventory.
• Responsible for maintaining company vehicle and parts inventory.
• Inspect and troubleshoot systems to identify necessary repairs.
• Travels to different worksites to complete required tasks and projects.
• Responsible for working safely, adhering to all aspects of our Health, Safety, and Environmental Program, and supporting all Company safety efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, And Skills

• Must have a flexible schedule and work some nights and weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General trade or Handyman experience with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and drywall.
• Possess the vehicle and tools required to perform job functions.
• Ability to interact with a diverse customer roster.
