Job summary

Ranchland Ford is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong automotive repair background and can diagnose repairs on repair orders efficiently.

Our dealership offers growth opportunities and a family-owned environment where service to customers and each other is valued. You will work on a variety of systems, test-drive vehicles, and communicate with the Service Advisor about additional needs and estimates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ford Certification preferred.
• Previous dealership experience is a plus.
• B level qualifications including diagnostic, electrical and engine repair.
• Dexterity and steady hand with good hand-eye coordination.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills with diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent customer service and basic computer skills.
• Positive, friendly attitude and eagerness to improve.
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment and collaborate well.
• Ability to learn new technology and procedures; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on repair orders efficiently per dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes and A/C systems.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional needs and estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Service TechnicianResponsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Service Technician Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ford Certification preferred
• Previous experience at a dealership is a plus
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
