Job summary

Maltz Sales Company, part of Flow Control Group, is seeking a skilled fabrication technician to support in-house plastic fabrication and field service across New England. You will read and interpret drawings, perform welded fabrications in metal and plastic, and assist with repairs on-site at customer locations.

The role requires handling materials with hazardous chemicals, strong mechanical aptitude, and willingness to travel to customer sites across the region.

Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial or process environments is required.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions from drawings and job specs.
  • Hands-on welding and fabrication skills in metal and plastics.
  • Familiarity with hazardous chemicals and safety compliance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and assist with daily in-house plastic fabrication.
  • Read and work from drawings, schematics, and job specs.
  • Perform metal and plastic fabrication and welding (PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF, SS, CS); assist with in-field plastic repairs.
  • Work with materials containing or near hazardous chemicals.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system issues; ensure health and safety compliance; travel to customer sites in New England.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and assist with daily in-house plastic fabrication.
  • Read and work from drawings, schematics, and job specs.
  • Perform metal and plastic fabrication and welding, including: PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF Stainless steel and carbon steel Assist with in-field plastic repairs and installation.
  • Work with materials containing or in proximity to hazardous chemicals.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system issues. Ensure compliance with health, safety, laws, regulations, and best practices. Travel to customer sites throughout New England Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe job site
Qualifications
  • Experience working in industrial or process environments Hands-on knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Chemical process piping Industrial electrical systems Metal welding and fabrication – TIG/MIG Plastic welding and fabrication Industrial water or wastewater treatment systems
  • Ability to read and follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic computer and writing skills for job reporting and communication
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and technical documents
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight jobs.
  • Willingness and ability to meet deadlines.
