Job summary

Midwest Press & Automation LLC in Michigan is seeking a motivated MPA Service Technician to service metal forming equipment both in our plant and at customer sites.

You will inspect presses, disassemble components, document findings, and prepare parts for assembly, while representing the company professionally and adhering to safety protocols.

Candidates should have a high school education, hands-on tool knowledge, and basic math skills; travel to customer facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• High School education is required.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and initiative.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and prints.
• Experience with basic measuring and mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Service metal forming equipment both in plant and at customer sites.
• Inspect presses and related equipment for wear and damage.
• Disassemble equipment, check for damage, and review findings with supervision or engineering.
• Prepare components and assist assembly to standards.
• Represent MPA professionally at customer facilities.
• Follow safety protocols at all sites.

Job description

Midwest Press & Automation LLC is a fast‑paced, rapidly growing company servicing the metal forming industry. We are seeking a motivated individual with mechanical aptitude and skills to work as a MPA Service Technician.

Position Responsibilities

• Work both in plant and out plant to service our customer needs.
• Perform Inspections of metal forming and related equipment (mostly presses).
• Disassemble equipment and check for damage and excessive wear.
• Document findings and review with MPA supervision or engineering.
• Clean, deburr, and prepare components for assembly.
• Fit and assemble components using best industry standards and procedures.
• Positively represent MPA both in plant and at customer facility.
• Always follow safety protocol. Respect and adhere to customer safety protocol at their facility, as it may differ from those used at the MPA facility.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area both in plant and at customer facility.
• Be a courteous driver and obey traffic laws while driving to and from customer facility. You are still a representative of MPA.

Skill & Experience Requirements

• High School Education
• Self‑Motivated and disciplined
• Have knowledge of hand tools and their uses.

• Additional $6 / hr. for outplant
• Additional $12/hr. for overnight premium
• $59.00 per diem for outplant more than 12/overnight work
• $29.00 per diem for outplant less than 12 hours
