Job summary

Guardian Alarm is seeking a skilled Service Technician to repair burglar and fire alarm systems on customer sites in Michigan. The role emphasizes safeguarding client premises while performing installations, tests and ongoing maintenance.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience with CCTV and access control systems, solid knowledge of computer hardware and networks, and a valid driver’s license. Training is provided and benefits are offered by the employer.

Qualifications

• Minimum required 5–10 years in the alarm industry.
• Background in security and fire system repairs and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CCTV and access control installations and repairs.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and various OS.
• Proven ability to work with networks and IP functions.

Experience Preferred

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the alarm industry
• Background in security and fire system repairs and troubleshooting
• Extensive background in the installation and repair of closed-circuit television and access control systems
• Proven advanced knowledge of computer hardware and various software operating systems
• Proven competency working with networks and programming of networks
• Extensive experience troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity and compatibility conflicts

Education Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• NICET Level II, State Fire Alarm Technician License, City of Detroit Fire License, and valid Driver’s License are mandatory
• Vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems helpful
• Formal education in computer hardware, operating systems, and network and IP functions helpful
