Job summary

Big Star Dodge, a Ken Garff Automotive Dealership, is recruiting an Automotive Service Technician (Mechanic) to join our team. You’ll perform precise repairs to meet dealer and factory standards while addressing customer concerns with clear communication and quality checks.

You’ll work with the Dealer Management System, adhere to our PRO TECH program rewards, and benefit from competitive pay and a supportive team culture that prioritizes growth and integrity.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications highly preferred or equivalent dealership certifications.
• Prior automotive technician experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ with valid U.S. driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient and expert repairs following dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose and address customer concerns to Fixed First Visit goals.
• Utilize the DMS for work orders, inspections, quotes, and timekeeping.
• Maintain workspace cleanliness and vehicle care throughout the shift.

Looking for:

• Accommodating and analytical, while producing highly precise and accurate work
• Resourceful and seeks a high level of technical expertise
• Unselfish and approachable with a preference for detailed, skill-based work
• Prior automotive technician (mechanic) experience preferred
• ASE or dealership manufacturer certifications highly preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older and be authorized to work in the U.S with a valid in-state driver’s license and a good driving record, per company standards

What you’ll do as an Automotive Service Technician (Mechanic):

• Perform efficient and expert work on repair orders, in accordance with dealership, state and factory standards
• Address customers’ primary concerns with diagnosis, repair and quality control to attain ‘Fixed First Visit’ expectations
• Perform the Ken Garff Electronic Multi Point Inspection along with video on every vehicle; immediately notify Service Advisor if the car has additional recommendations or if more time is needed to complete the repair
• Master our Dealer Management System (DMS) for work distribution, electronic inspections, repair quotes, communication and time keeping
• Complete required training as assigned
• Maintain cleanliness throughout workspace and in all customer vehicles
