Job summary

Community Coffee is seeking a Service Technician to troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain brewing and serving equipment in a workshop environment. You will help ensure customers enjoy quality coffee by keeping equipment clean, reliable, and functional, on-site at our facilities.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Aptitude test score may substitute for diploma.
  • 2+ years in electrical or small appliance repair; HVAC a plus.
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing fundamentals.
  • Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID.
  • Pre-employment physical completion required.
  • Experience with Community Coffee may satisfy requirement with HR approval.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and schedule repairs to meet operational demands.
  • Inspect used parts for wear and dimensional changes.
  • Observe and diagnose issues by listening to equipment in operation.
  • Dismantle equipment to access defective components.
  • Inspect parts for defects and deformations.
  • Adjust and calibrate functional components and controls.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts and install new components.
  • Lubricate and clean parts for smooth operation.
  • Conduct performance tests to verify repairs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of repair parts.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Position Overview

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, repairing and maintaining brewing and serving equipment in a workshop setting. You play a critical role in ensuring our customers enjoy quality coffee products by keeping equipment clean, functional, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and schedule repairs of brewing equipment to meet operational demands
  • Inspect used parts to assess wear and dimensional changes
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to diagnose issues
  • Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective components
  • Examine parts for defects, such as changes in form or texture
  • Adjust and calibrate functional components and control instruments
  • Repair or replace faulty parts, install new structural or functional components
  • Lubricate and clean mechanical parts to ensure smooth operation
  • Conduct performance tests to verify repairs and ensure equipment functionality
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory of all repair parts
  • May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • A passing score on an aptitude test may be accepted in lieu of a diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical or small appliance repair; HVAC experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing fundamentals
  • Valid driver’s license or government‑issued ID
  • Successful completion of a pre‑employment physical
  • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may satisfy this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with HR approval
