Job summary

Advantage Ford is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong service technician background, with Ford certifications a plus.

We offer training for dealership-experienced applicants and a supportive, team-oriented environment. You will perform repair work per orders, diagnose issues using tools, and communicate with the Service Advisor regarding additional service needs and time estimates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of service technician experience.
• Strong diagnostic and repair capabilities across engine, electrical, brakes, etc.
• Ford certification is a plus and ASE/OEM certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on repair orders with efficiency per dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to identify needed repairs.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about required additional work and time estimates.
• Perform warranty repairs per manufacturer specifications.

The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ford Certification a huge plus
• ASE or other OEM certifications a plus
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
