Job summary

Wood-Automotive-Group is seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our growing Ford dealership team. The right candidate has a strong service technician background and will diagnose and repair vehicles to manufacturer specifications with efficiency.

Ford certifications are a plus, and we train any candidate with dealership experience. Responsibilities include repairing orders, testing vehicles, and communicating with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of service technician experience preferred.
• Ford Certification a huge plus; training provided if dealership experience exists.
• Able to diagnose and repair vehicle systems to manufacturer specs.
• Strong communication with Service Advisor and customers.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on repair orders with efficiency and quality.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to identify issues.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair engine, electrical, suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional needed work and timelines.
• Complete repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ford Certification a huge plus
• ASE or other OEM certifications a plus
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
