Job summary

Cavalier Ford Lincoln in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Ford Certified Service Technician to join our growing team. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and ASE & Ford certified, ready to diagnose repairs and complete service orders.

Responsibilities include testing components with diagnostic tools, performing repairs to engine, transmission, electrical, and braking systems, and communicating with the Service Advisor about additional required work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required.
• Ford Certification.
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred.
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair.
• Dexterity and steady hand with good hand-eye coordination.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills with electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.
• Positive, friendly attitude and eagerness to improve.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor if additional services are needed and provide estimated time for repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership

• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.

• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs

• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
