Service Technician

Location: Fort Payne, AL

Type: Full Time

Primary Objective: We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician specializing in the maintenance and repair of tractors and lawn care equipment. You will be paid a competitive wage with the opportunity to earn a monthly bonus based on your performance.

Ideal Candidate: Self‑motivated, strong background in diagnosing and servicing diesel‑powered farm machinery, including zero turns, compact tractors, and other John Deere equipment. Must be able to work independently as a Service Technician. Experience in heavy equipment diesel repair and farm equipment maintenance is highly encouraged.

Major Functions and Scope

• Perform basic agriculture equipment/outdoor power equipment or commercial worksite equipment diagnostics and determine required repairs.
• Conduct basic agricultural equipment/outdoor power equipment/commercial worksite product repairs as requested by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman.
• Participate in all job‑related training and development.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work orders.
• Maintain current product knowledge of John Deere and other products sold or serviced by TriGreen.
• Maintain safe and proper operation of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Complete any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision

• Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment/commercial worksite equipment.
• Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and perform internet functions.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associates degree from Ag Tech program preferred.
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiar with John Deere and other products serviced by TriGreen.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems related to agriculture equipment/outdoor power equipment.
• Must have analytical, business planning, problem‑solving, communication, motivational, and interpersonal people skills.
• Physical environment: ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds; tasks may include lifting, bending, squatting, standing for prolonged periods, and sitting.
