Job Overview

The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. Additionally, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment.
• Interact with customers to address equipment concerns.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering parts and supplies.
• Assist and train apprentices and field service technicians.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
• Provide technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning, start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems.
• Increase customer awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products and services can benefit their operations.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
• Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations in the past 5 years.
• Ability to be on-call; on-call periods will occur, typically every 4 weeks.
• Physical ability to lift and move weight, walk, stoop, and kneel.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Core Competencies

• Read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
• Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
• Basic vibration troubleshooting.
• Basic air quality (compressor/dryer - air treatment).
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and other basic computer usage; proficiency with handheld computer.
• Maintain proper business travel practices cost‑efficiently.

Preferences

• Industrial air compressor maintenance & knowledge.
• EPA Certification.
• Veterans/Active‑Duty Military encouraged.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

• Service Technicians will travel daily within a 3‑hour radius in the service area.
• Company vehicle and fuel card provided.
• Not eligible for relocation; typically not relocated.

Pay Range

Starting Pay will range between $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, hourly position.
