Job summary

Charles Gabus Ford in Des Moines, IA is hiring a Service Technician to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain our high standards in automotive repair.

You will diagnose and repair vehicle systems, test drive vehicles, and communicate with the Service Advisor. A valid Iowa driver's license, ASE Certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership.
• Test drive vehicles and test components/systems using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C, etc.).
• Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers about additional service.
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership
• Test drive vehicles and testing components/systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc…)
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Sign on bonus:

• Additional $500 after 60 days

Requirements:

• ASE Certification
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Must be at least 18 years old to apply
• Have a valid Iowa Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Will submit to a drug and background screening prior to employment
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
