Job summary

Kia of Des Moines is seeking a Service Technician to join our busy service department. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Kia vehicles, test components with diagnostic tools, and communicate with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification, at least 2 years of service tech experience, and a valid Iowa driver's license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• ASE Certification is required.
• 2+ years of Service Technician experience is preferred.
• Valid Iowa Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Ability to learn new technology and use diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership.
• Test drive vehicles and testing components/systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc…).
• Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional service needs.
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities :

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership
• Test drive vehicles and testing components/systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc…)
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Requirements:

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of Service Technician experience (preferred)
• ASE Certification (required)
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
• Must be at least 18 years old to apply
• Have a validIowa Driver's License and clean driving record
• Will submit to a drug and background screening prior to employment
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
