Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic for its North Carolina service storefront. You will perform heavy-duty truck repairs under supervision, with on-the-job training in a development program to progress to service technician status.

The role includes hands-on work across motor overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, brakes, and general maintenance, with adherence to safety and shop protocols.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists in general mechanical duties and repairs.
• Gains experience in motor overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, brakes, and general maintenance.
• Performs troubleshooting on mechanical issues and attends training sessions.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic performs heavy-duty truck repair under general supervision, receiving on the job training in a development program to achieve service technician status.

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience in motor overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, motor tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
