Job summary

Hoffman Building Technologies in Columbia, SC seeks a Service Technician to perform preventative maintenance on HVAC DDC systems, including control analysis, network optimization, and customer training. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of DDC controls and mechanical systems, with on-call rotation and component replacement as needed.

Ideal candidates hold an AA degree in applied technology or equivalent experience, plus HVAC/mechanical systems knowledge and troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks: system analysis, backups, testing, and customer training.
• Execute service quoted projects.
• Troubleshoot DDC control and mechanical systems as needed.
• Replace failed components as necessary.
• Maintain clear communications with supervisors, coordinators, managers, and customers.
• On-call as scheduled.

JOB TITLE: Service Technician COMPANY: Hoffman Building Technologies STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime) DEPARTMENT: Service REPORTS TO: Service Manager or Operations Supervisor

SERVICE TECHNICIAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preventative Maintenance Tasking (Database Back-ups, Control System Analysis, Network Analysis and Optimization, Central Equipment Controls Performance Testing, Customer Training)


• Execute Service QuotedProjects


• Troubleshoot DDC Control and Mechanical Systems whennecessary


• Replace Failed Components as necessary


• Provide Consistent Communications (Supervisor, Service Coordinator, Account Managers, and Customer)


• On call as scheduled

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of HVAC DDC Control Theory & Applications


• Proficient with Alerton, Distech, or Tridium Programming


• Experience with electronics and basic electricalcircuits


• Computer hardware and softwareskills


• Ability to work independently andunsupervised


• Strong communications and interactive skills

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

• AA degree in applied technology (preferred)
