Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in truck equipment installation/upfitting or related field.

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, schematics and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Install truck bodies, hydraulic systems, and related equipment onto new or existing chassis per manufacturer and customer specs.
  • Wire new electrical systems and components for newly installed equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, hydraulic, PTO, mechanical, brake, suspension, and lighting systems on trailers and related equipment.
  • Read blueprints, build sheets, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to complete installs and repairs accurately.
  • Perform final inspection and functional testing before equipment is delivered or returned to service.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, or cutting as needed for custom builds and repairs.
  • Coordinate with the Parts Department and other technicians to keep jobs on track.
  • Document installations, diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations clearly and accurately.
  • Communicate directly with customers about installation needs, repair status, and timelines.

Description

We're looking for a hands-on technician to both install new truck equipment (bodies, hydraulic systems, and related components) and diagnose, repair, and maintain existing trucks, trailers, and equipment. This is a great fit for someone with strong electrical and hydraulic skills — including PTO systems — whether that background comes from truck upfitting, trailer service, agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, or automotive repair.

What You'll Do

What You Bring To The Team
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in truck equipment installation/upfitting, mechanical/electrical repair, trailer service, agriculture equipment, heavy equipment, automotive or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting, wiring, PTO systems, and hydraulic systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, service manuals, schematics, and technical instructions.
  • Welding, fabrication, cutting, blueprint reading, or technical/vocational training is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, and pride in quality workmanship.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Physical Requirements

This position is active and hands-on. It requires regular standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, grasping, lifting up to 50 pounds, working around tools and equipment, and working in a shop environment with moderate noise and varying conditions.
