Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting is seeking a Service Technician for our client in Canton, OH. The role focuses on troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with waste and recycling equipment, with on-site service calls and occasional shop work.

The ideal candidate has experience with electrical controls, PLCs, hydraulic systems, and basic welding. Read schematics, operate independently, and be flexible with hours, including weekends. Comprehensive health and retirement benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical control systems, PLCs and hydraulic systems; formal certifications not required.
• Ability to read schematics and perform basic mechanical work.
• Welding experience, especially stick welding, is a plus.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues on-site.
• Willingness to travel for service calls and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues on client sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

Job description

Title: Service Technician

Shift: 7am-4pm, M-F (on call on weekends typically once a month)

Pay: $20-$25/hr (+/- depending on experience)

Location: Canton, OH

Our client sells, rents and services waste and recycling equipment across the United States. They provide equipment solutions throughout the waste and recycling industry which encompasses a large customer base and marketplace for us to operate in, leaving them with great opportunities for growth. They are a family owned and operated business that offers flexibility and care for their people, but also offers competitive compensation and benefits. They are seeking a Service Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with machines, performing minor maintenance, and working on hydraulic systems. The role primarily involves service calls, with occasional time spent in the shop when needed.

Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Work on hydraulic systems as needed.
• Conduct service calls and provide on-site support.
• Occasionally work in the shop for restocking or equipment use.
• Maintain flexibility in working hours, including potential late hours or weekends.

About you:

• Experience with electrical control systems, PLCs, and hydraulic systems.
• General understanding of these systems; formal certifications are not required.
• Experience in welding, particularly stick welding, is desired.
• Ability to read schematics and possess basic mechanical skills.
• Trustworthy and capable of working independently.
• Experience in industrial maintenance or similar fields is a plus.
