The Technician Position offers a pay scale with a base hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $25.00. Additionally, the position may include a production bonus based on individual or team performance, which can range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) to an unlimited amount.
Position Purpose
The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer and dealership vehicles and completing assigned repair orders efficiently and according to manufacturer standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Possess thorough knowledge of all job aspects.
- Diagnose and repair assigned vehicles upon presenting a valid repair order.
- Visually inspect each vehicle to identify needed services or repairs.
- Prepare and present accurate repair estimates to customers.
- Perform quality work, ensuring all details are addressed without leaving loose ends.
- Communicate diagnosis and repair needs clearly to advisors and provide relevant updates to management and clients.
- Install only parts specified in the repair order; return warranty parts to Parts Department and dispose of used parts properly.
- Complete all work following safety requirements and procedures.
- Understand problems and make timely, practical decisions; involve management when necessary; follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision.
- Respond promptly and courteously to clients and co-workers, internal and external.
- Adapt to necessary changes and seek continuous improvement.
- Return tools and equipment to proper storage after use; return unused parts to Parts Department.
- Maintain personal and special tools.
- Assist with warranty repair orders and other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Review technical bulletins and publications as directed.
- Manage time effectively to maximize productivity; prioritize repairs and tasks.
- Follow work schedule, arrive on time, and be engaged at your workstation.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Follow safety rules and use protective equipment.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and dress code.
- Protect customer and dealer information.
- Promote organizational culture and accountability.
- Complete assigned tasks and duties as requested.
