Job summary

Facility Solutions Group, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join the Austin team.

You will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment for commercial lighting, while promoting safety and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will hold a State Issued Journeyman Electrician’s License, have a valid driver’s license, and capability to multitask.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have current State Issued Journeyman Electrician’s License.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR for company vehicle use.
• Ability to multitask while staying organized.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive customer service skills; lighting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints for wiring layouts.
• Plan installations to minimize material waste and ensure future access.
• Install electrical wiring, fixtures, and control equipment per specs and codes.
• Install distribution equipment such as switches, relays, and panel boards.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems and maintain compliance with safety standards.
• Work from ladders/scaffolds/roofs to install or repair wiring and fixtures.
• Ensure equipment operation safety and report hazards to management.
• Maintain license/ID as required by regulations.

As a Journeyman Electrician you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment for commercial lighting. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial lighting and electrical maintenance, as well as promote the core values of FSG through excellent customer service and assuring the safety of all work. Position may be elegible for company vehicle and gas card.

Responsibilities

A Journeyman Electrician will:

• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels; installs Buss, Busbar, electrical feeders, power systems and/or switchgear.
• Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
• Experience working in bucket truck.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• MUST have current State Issued Journeyman Electrician’s License
• Must possess valid driver’s license and able to pass MVR to drive a company vehicle
• Ability to multitask while staying organized
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Positive customer service skills
• Experience in lighting a plus!
