Job summary

Facility Solutions Group is seeking a Journeyman Electrician in San Antonio, TX to plan layouts, install and repair wiring, fixtures, and control equipment. The ideal candidate will mentor Apprentices and uphold FSG core values with strong customer service and safety focus.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, coordinating installations, wiring layouts, and maintaining licenses. A high school diploma, valid license (preferred), and 3–5 years’ experience are desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Electrician’s License preferred but not required.
• Three to five years’ experience in the field.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to multitask while staying organized.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Positive customer service skills.
• Experience in lighting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams.
• Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste and ensure future maintenance access.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring based on job specs and local codes.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and panels; installs Buss, Busbar, feeders, and switchgear.
• Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install or repair wiring and fixtures.
• Advise management on potential hazards of equipment operation.
• Meet attendance standards and follow absence procedures.
• Maintain current electrician’s license or ID card as required.

Overview

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. The ideal candidate will mentor and develop Apprentice Electricians as well as promote the core values of FSG through excellent customer service and assuring the safety of all work.

Responsibilities

• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels; installs Buss, Busbar, electrical feeders, power systems and/or switchgear.
• Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
