TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician IV - Plumbing to lead front-line service activities, install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in commercial/residential settings.

You will interpret blueprints, guide other technicians, and coordinate with subcontractors while ensuring safety and quality. The role requires extensive plumbing repair, water heater and boiler work, and strong communication to explain work and meet service agreements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant Service Plumber experience.
  • Two-year technical degree in related field is preferred.
  • Must possess required registrations, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose plumbing issues using observation, testing, and tailored setups.
  • Disassemble/reassemble equipment to perform troubleshooting.
  • Perform planned maintenance and inspections per service agreements.
  • Repair: stoppages/cabling, pumping, backflow testing/repair/replacement, fixture install/replacement, domestic water/sewer or storm water leak/repair, fixture rough in, pump replacement/repair, leak locating/line tracing, hydro jetting and camera.
  • Maintain water heaters, boiler pumps and circulating, boiler controller, troubleshooting and system installation.
  • Complete service contracts, quoted projects, and on-demand service calls.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and explain work performed.
  • Communicate and document project status to stakeholders.
  • Lead and support service technicians with technical guidance.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and train technicians.
  • Coordinate multi-tech jobs across projects with minimal disruption.
  • Review job contracts and assist with installation planning.
  • Ensure work aligns with project and start-up schedules.
  • Safely drive vehicle/trailer and follow safety policies.
  • Document invoicing data based on hours and materials used.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory on service vehicle.

Job Summary

The Service Technician IV - Plumbing services as a lead technician and front-line resource, providing technical support, guidance, and training to other service technicians. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in commercial or residential settings. Interprets blueprints and technical drawings to plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, and water supply systems. Cuts, assembles, and installs pipes and tubing with consideration for existing infrastructure such as electrical wiring. Installs and maintains water supply systems with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. #TDSPEC

Essential Duties
  • Expertly diagnose plumbing issues by employing keen observation, rigorous testing, and tailored setups to meet trade-specific requirements.
  • Performs disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial or residential equipment to perform trouble shooting.
  • Performs planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement.
  • Handles the following plumbing repairs: stoppages/cabling, pumping and backflow testing/repair/replacement, fixture install/replacement and general troubleshooting or repair, domestic water/sewer or storm water leak/repair, fixture rough in, pump replacement/repair, leak locating/line tracing, hydro jetting and camera.
  • Responsible for water heater maintenance/troubleshooting/replacement and boiler maintenance, boiler pumps and circulating, boiler controller, troubleshooting and system installation.
  • Efficiently completes service contracts, quoted projects, and on-demand service calls in alignment with directives.
  • Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Communicates and documents project status to all project stakeholders.
  • Serves as a lead and front-line resource to service technicians through technical support.
  • Coordinates the work of subcontractors, and trains and provides guidance to technicians.
  • Coordinates multi-tech jobs, and accomplishes multiple tasks on multiple projects with minimal impact, if any, between projects.
  • Reviews job contract specifications and assists with installation plan.
  • Coordinates work so it aligns with the project and start-up schedule.
  • Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
  • Completes documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used to complete the service.
  • Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant Service Plumber experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two-year technical degree in related field is preferred.
  • Must possess required registrations, professional licenses and or certifications as required by the position.
  • Required plumbing repair skills:
    • Stoppages/cabling, pumping and backflow testing/repair/replacement
    • Fixture install/replacement
    • General troubleshooting and repair
    • Domestic water/sewer or storm water leak/repair
    • Fixture rough-in
    • Pump replacement/repair
    • Leak locating/line tracing
    • Hydro jetting and camera.
  • Required water heater skills:
    • Planned maintenance, troubleshooting and replacement.
  • Required boiler skills:
    • Planned maintenance, boiler pumps and circulating, boiler controller (external), troubleshooting and system installation.
  • Advanced knowledge of service processes, techniques and codes is required.
  • Proficient in reading complex schematics and blue prints.
  • Performs as self-managed individual.
  • Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.
  • Demonstrates strong business ethics at all times.
