Job summary

United Rentals in Milwaukee seeks a Service Tech I to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment with a focus on safety and quality. You will also assist with equipment pick-up/delivery and help manage inventory in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes strong mechanical aptitude, customer service, and teamwork, with opportunities for growth into higher level tech roles within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of Diesel Engines, Vacuum Trucks, AC Systems, RV Systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools applicable to position.
• Basic plumbing knowledge.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, Plumbing, and tagging of equipment for rental ready status.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Manage and Organize Inventory.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
