POSITION SUMMARY

Performs repairs on medium and heavy-duty trucks of any make or model. Has advanced knowledge of all systems associated with these trucks. Achieves and maintains at least one OEM certification, which qualifies the technician to perform warranty repairs. Maintains an acceptable level of efficiency for all repairs in accordance with company standards. Works harmoniously with management, co-workers, and customers to ensure a best-in-class repair experience. Assists all positions within the dealership and department to sell hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieves and maintains OEM certification to perform warranty repairs on OEM equipment represented by the branch.
• Performs repairs with at least 85% efficiency on OEM-certified repairs over a 3-month average.
• Diagnoses and performs general repairs on all truck systems.
• Mentors other technicians with technical ability.
• Completes tasks in any prior technician classification, possessing necessary documentation or certification.
• Communicates professionally with co-workers, management, and customers.
• Maintains a professional appearance, supports safe work habits, and complies with all company policies.
• Owns all necessary tooling for repairs associated with certifications.
• Fosters teamwork within the department and with other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Reports directly to the Service Foreman or designee.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Effective written communication skills that facilitate selling hours.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents.
• Interpersonal skills needed to teach, train, and coach new technicians.
