Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Westfield, MA seeks a Service Team Supervisor for the 5th shift (Weekend Nights Fri–Sun 7:00pm–7:30am). Assist the Service Team Manager with planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising work to meet the master schedule on aviation maintenance projects.

Role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years aviation maintenance experience, and an A&P license. Lead, mentor, and ensure safety and quality while maintaining clear communication with leadership and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate, meaningful communication flow between leadership and team.
  • Deliver timely Progressive Counseling to maintain safety, compliance, and appropriate behavior amongst team.
  • Conduct development discussions and support growth opportunities for all team members.
  • Establish departmental goals aligned with organizational goals and communicate performance expectations.
  • Coordinate with support departments to ensure materials and equipment are available for the department.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, policies, procedures, FARs, and regulatory mandates; perform daily safety audits.
  • Manage workflow to ensure customer outdates are met; close loop with STM on team feedback and customer communications.
  • Manage project estimates and communicate/elevate new labor estimates to STM.
  • Serve as back up to the STM for customer communication regarding work, including discrepancies and estimates.
  • Handle hangar or weather-related emergencies, injuries, and aircraft damage, and assist in facility repairs.
  • Review daily job charging and supervise technicians’ hours.

This position is for 5th shift (Weekend Nights) - Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00pm-7:30am.

The base compensation range for this role is $45.78 - $60.09 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years related technical aviation maintenance experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Position Purpose

Assists Service Team Manager (STM) in managing projects including planning, scheduling, organizing, coordinating, & supervising work/labor hours to meet master schedule. Manages & mentors subordinate personnel ensuring safety & quality of work. Accountable for maintaining the engagement of the team by establishing environment of collaboration, creating a culture of development where employees are supported in seeking growth opportunities, & guiding team to high quality performance.

Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions
  1. Ensures accurate, meaningful communication flow between leadership & team to ensure alignment .
  2. Delivers timely Progressive Counseling when necessary to maintain safety, compliance, & appropriate behavior amongst team .
  3. Conducts regular contribution & development discussions (end-of-year discussions, 1:1) & supports development investment for all team members .
  4. Establishes & cascades departmental goals aligned with organizational goals. Communicates performance expectations. Supports entire team to meet department goals .
  5. Coordinates with support departments to ensure materials & equipment are available for the department .
  6. Ensures work is performed in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, Corporate policies, Site Operating Procedures, FARs, & all other regulatory mandates. Performs daily safety audits to drive & promote site safety goals/initiatives .
  7. Manages workflow to ensure customer outdates are met. Closes the loop with STM on team feedback & communications with customers .
  8. Actively manages project estimates, communicates/elevates new squawks & related new labor estimates to STM .
  9. Serves as the back up to the STM for communication to customer regarding work complete, including discrepancies & estimates (off-shift Supervisor serves as the primary customer point of contact) .
  10. Off-shift Supervisor serves as main contact for hangar or weather-related emergencies, injuries, and/or aircraft damage, serves as the MAZE for hangar evacuations, identifies and helps resolve necessary facility repairs .
  11. Reviews daily job charging. Reviews/controls hours of technicians & leads .
Additional Functions
  1. If required, resolves warranty claim issues with Aircraft/Engine/APU manufactures/vendors. .
  2. Institutionalizes Lean & continuous improvement. .
  3. Assists Service Team Manager in hiring/onboarding as required. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Must have demonstrated leadership ability, high degree of integrity, possess strong verbal & written communication skills.
  2. Must be able to interact effectively with internal & external customers to support various projects, assist in troubleshooting aircraft systems as requested.
  3. Must be able to read, write, speak, & understand the English language.
