Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store operations supervisor to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day activities across departments. You will mentor staff, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive sales while maintaining store standards.

The role emphasizes staffing strategy, training, performance management, and safe operations with a focus on prime hours and efficient service. A background in retail leadership and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in a clear and precise way.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead team members.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day to day store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members to ensure service and sales goals are exceeded.
• Manages staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Promotes Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs.
• Spends majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
