Job summary

Cooper Electric Supply, LLC is seeking a Service/Start Up Coordinator for Ocean, NJ to schedule field technicians for generator startups and related services. You will ensure site readiness, review orders, and coordinate with customers, project managers, and field teams.

The role requires 2+ years in service coordination or dispatch, with knowledge of electrical systems and startup processes preferred. Office-based, hourly, with a structured benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch qualified field technicians for startup, commissioning, testing, and related service work.
• Confirm jobsite readiness including equipment installation, fuel, batteries, and safe site access.
• Review work orders, project scope, equipment specs, startup checklists, and manufacturer requirements.
• Coordinate startup dates and site requirements with customers, contractors, project managers, and field service technicians.
• Ensure technicians receive complete job packages with site contacts, model and serial numbers.
• Track parts, tools, testing equipment, and other materials; accelerate shortages or scheduling risks.
• Monitor daily field activity, adjust schedules, and communicate delays or conflicts.

Whatyouwill do:

• Ensure technicians receive complete job packages, including site contacts, model and serial numbers, and special instructions.
• Track parts, tools, testing equipment, and other materials required for each assignment; accelerate shortages or scheduling risks promptly.
• Monitor daily field activity, adjust schedules as priorities change, and communicate delays or conflicts to affected parties.

Whatyouwill bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in electrical, mechanical, power-generation, or business operations preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in service coordination, dispatch, project coordination, power generation, or preferred related field.
• Knowledge of standby generators, automatic transfer switches, electrical systems, fuel systems, and startup or commissioning processes preferred.
• Experience using service-management, dispatch, customer relationship management, or enterprise resource planning software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to read work orders, equipment schedules, and technical documents.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• The ability to sit for much of the assigned shift while using phones, and computers.
• This job is preformed primarily in office environments.

Location - Ocean, NJ

Schedule - Monday - Friday,

Range - This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a pay range of $21/hr - $25/hr. Rate paid will be dependent upon applicable experience.
