Job summary

Scheels in Bismarck, ND is seeking an Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of store equipment including bicycles, exercise gear, snowboards and more. You’ll work with vendors for parts, maintain records, and assist with delivery and loading for customers.

The role requires a clean driver’s license, potential DOT certification, and mechanical knowledge. Flexible scheduling with multi-day weekend coverage is expected.

Qualifications

• Clean, valid driver’s license required.
• Willing to obtain DOT certification.
• Mechanical knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment.
• Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts.
• Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment.
• Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences.
• Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment. Equipment may involve bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, archery arrows, paintball markers, and other merchandise in a Scheels Store
• Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts
• Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers
• Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment
• Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate must possess a clean, valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain DOT certification and meet Scheels driving standards. Mechanical knowledge is preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.

Schedule:

• Typically scheduled 1-2 nights/week (5:00pm-9:00pm) and must be available two weekends per month
• Schedule may include varied shifts during our business hours of: 9:30am-9:00pm Monday-Friday, 9:00am-7:00pm Saturday & 11:00am-6:00pm Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Average Hours: 18-25 Hours/Week.
