Landscapers Supply in Greenville, SC is seeking a Shop Support professional to assist the service shop daily. You will help technicians, keep equipment organized, and perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure smooth workflow.

The role offers growth in a team-focused environment with opportunities to advance while avoiding Sunday hours. A high school education and basic mechanical aptitude are preferred.

• High school or equivalent preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn.
• Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Assist with loading and unloading customer equipment.
• Stage equipment for technicians with proper organization and readiness.
• Clean equipment before and after service to maintain shop standards.
• Keep work areas, yard, and shop clean and organized at all times.
• Sharpen mower blades and cutting equipment as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacement, air filter checks.
• Assist technicians with light mechanical work and simple repairs.
• Organize and maintain tools, parts, and supplies.

What You’ll Do

Reports To: Service Director / Shop Foreman
Location: Service Shop

Position Summary The Shop Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the service shop by assisting technicians, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and performing basic maintenance tasks. This role helps ensure equipment is prepared, serviced, and staged efficiently so technicians can focus on skilled repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Support & Equipment Handling

• Assist with loading and unloading customer equipment
• Stage equipment for technicians with proper organization and readiness
• Clean equipment before and after service to maintain shop standards
• Keep work areas, yard, and shop clean and organized at all times

Basic Maintenance Duties

• Sharpen mower blades and cutting equipment as needed
• Perform routine maintenance such as:
  • Oil changes
  • Spark plug replacement
  • Air filter checks and replacement
• Assist technicians with light mechanical work and simple repairs
• Perform basic equipment upkeep to ensure safe operation

Shop Operations

• Organize and maintain tools, parts, and supplies
• Assist with parts handling, retrieval, and stocking
• Maintain shop cleanliness (sweeping, trash removal, organizing)
• Ensure all staging areas are orderly and efficient for workflow

Team Support

• Assist Service Technicians and Service Writers with daily tasks
• Follow instructions and respond promptly to shop needs
• Support team efficiency by preparing equipment and work areas

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn
• Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment safely
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50–70 lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, and work in indoor/outdoor shop conditions
• Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment

Work Environment

• Combination of indoor shop and outdoor work
• Exposure to noise, dust, and mechanical equipment
• Fast-paced, team-oriented service environment
