Job description

SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (TELLER)

Essential Functions:

  1. Accept cash items, deposits, and complete regulatory forms and logs.
  2. Verify amounts on deposits and examine checks for endorsement.
  3. Enter deposits in depositors’ passbooks, if applicable, or issue receipts to customers.
  4. Cash checks and pay out money upon verification of signatures and customer balances.
  5. Place hold on accounts for uncollected funds.
  6. Balance cash and ATM transactions daily. Process general ledger entries as required.
  7. Order cash supply to meet daily needs, count incoming cash, and prepare cash for shipment.
  8. Provide customer service, including selling domestic exchange, travelers’ checks, money orders, cashier checks, loan payments, safe deposit box payments, etc.
  9. Maintain logs of official checks, night depository, etc.
  10. Promote bank services and cross-sell products.
  11. Solve customer problems proactively.
  12. Recommend improvements to department functions to supervisors.
  13. File signature cards and maintain supplies for the teller area.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Previous cash handling experience

  • Three years of experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination
