Wage Range: $25-32+/hr. DOE

Job Summary

Are you an HVAC installer looking for more variety, bigger projects, and room to grow? MTech Mechanical is hiring a Service Projects Technician to handle commercial retrofit and replacement work—think RTU swaps, boiler upgrades, duct reroutes, and more. We’re open to candidates with 1–3 years of experience, including those coming from a residential background who are ready to level up.

You’ll work on a close-knit, high-performing team that values quality, safety, and continuous learning. If you’ve got solid install skills, a good attitude, and a drive to keep learning, we’d love to hear from you.

Essential Job Functions

• Install and replace HVAC and hydronic systems:
• Rooftop units (RTUs), furnaces, boilers, air handlers
• Ductwork install, removal, and tie-ins
• Run and reconnect gas piping
• Line set recovery, tie-in, brazing
• Startup, troubleshoot, and test equipment
• Interpret install plans, piping diagrams, and wiring schematics
• Coordinate job site logistics, material needs, and safety protocols
• Communicate clearly with clients, teammates, and project managers
• Keep job documentation up to date (MSI, Keystyle, etc.)
  
  
  

Qualifications

We’re looking for dependable, mechanically inclined techs ready to grow. Even if you don’t check every box—apply anyway.

Preferred Background:

• 1–3 years HVAC install or service experience (commercial or residential)
• Comfortable with RTU/furnace swaps, ductwork, gas piping, and line sets
• Universal EPA Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record (required for take-home vehicle)
• High school diploma or GED required
• Journeyman license (F29 or F31) is a plus
