Job summary

Apple Autos is hiring an Automotive Service Porter (Full Time) in Minnesota. The role moves vehicles, cleans and organizes the lot, and supports service staff to ensure smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.

Compensation ranges from $16.00 to $22.00 per hour based on experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers, vehicle check-in/check-out, light maintenance tasks, and ensuring safety and cleanliness in the service area.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of automotive terms and services is helpful.
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
• Ability to lift and move items as required (up to 50 pounds).
• Flexibility to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely move customer and dealership vehicles to designated service areas, parking lots, or storage areas as directed by service advisors or managers.
• Greet customers when they drop off or pick up their vehicles for service and ensure vehicles are returned in good condition with organized keys and paperwork.
• Wash, vacuum, and clean customer vehicles as needed to ensure top condition before return to customer.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks such as tire pressure and fluid levels as directed by the service team.
• Maintain a clean and organized service lot with vehicles in designated spots and clear walkways.
• Assist service technicians with moving parts, equipment, or tools as needed and deliver parts to the appropriate bays.
• Keep shop and service areas clean and perform light janitorial duties.
• Assist with vehicle check-in/check-out processes and document customer information accurately.
• Follow safety protocols and help secure the dealership premises.

The Automotive Service Porter is responsible for assisting in the smooth operation of the service department by ensuring vehicles are properly moved, cleaned, and organized. The role includes handling the movement of customer vehicles, maintaining cleanliness of the service area, and supporting service staff with various tasks to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. What You’ll Do

• Vehicle Movement & Parking:
• Safely move customer and dealership vehicles to designated service areas, parking lots, or storage areas as directed by service advisors or managers.
• Ensure that all vehicles are properly parked and stored to maximize space efficiency and ensure customer vehicles are easily accessible.
• Customer Vehicle Delivery:
• Greet customers when they drop off or pick up their vehicles for service.
• Ensure customer vehicles are returned in the same condition as when they arrived, with keys and paperwork organized and easy to access.
• Vehicle Cleaning:
• Wash, vacuum, and clean customer vehicles as needed, ensuring they are in top condition before being returned to the customer.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels, as directed by service team members.
• Lot Organization:
• Maintain a clean and organized service lot, keeping vehicles in designated spots and ensuring no obstructions in walkways or parking areas.
• Keep service bays and parking areas free of debris and other hazards.
• Assistance to Service Team:
• Assist service technicians with moving parts, equipment, or tools as needed.
• Help deliver parts and supplies to the appropriate service bays, ensuring all necessary materials are available for technicians.
• Maintain Service Area Cleanliness:
• Ensure that the shop, service drive, and waiting areas are kept clean and organized throughout the day.
• Perform general maintenance and light janitorial duties, including emptying trash, sweeping floors, and keeping the service area neat.
• Vehicle Check-In/Check-Out:
• Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all vehicles are logged into the system and customer information is recorded accurately.
• Ensure that any customer concerns or vehicle issues are communicated to the service advisors or technicians promptly.
• Safety and Security:
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Help secure the dealership premises by ensuring all vehicles are properly locked, and sensitive materials are kept secure.
• Other Duties:
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Service Manager or Service Advisors, including running errands, picking up parts, or delivering vehicles to local destinations.
