Job summary

Queen's Price Chopper is seeking a Seafood/Meat Clerk to deliver excellent customer service while assisting with seafood and meat selections. duties include cutting, cleaning, and preparing items to customer specifications in a friendly, efficient department environment.

You will greet customers, answer questions, and support inventory, sanitation, and product rotation to ensure freshness and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or food service is preferred.
• Ability to cut, trim, wrap and price seafood/meat items.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Use selling skills and merchandising to boost sales.
• Greet customers and assist with inquiries and orders.
• Prepare knife-ready products per standards (slice, trim, wrap, weigh, price).
• Assist in receiving, inventory and storage.
• Stock and rotate frozen, prepared meats and seafood.
• Maintain safety and sanitation in prep areas, coolers and sales floor.
• Ensure products are in date and fresh.
• Communicate customer requests to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The primary purpose of the Seafood/Meat Service clerk is to provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with seafood/meat selections including cutting, cleaning, and preparing items to customers' specifications. A Seafood/Meat Clerk provides a high level of prompt and friendly customer service, assists customers with questions and special orders, and needs, while maintaining a positive, customer-focused work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Use selling skills and merchandising programs to enhance customer interaction and achieve maximum sales.
• Provides polite friendly greetings and interacts with all customers as they approach the department.
• Prepares knife‑ready products for sale (slice, trim, wrap, weigh, and price) according to our standards.
• Assists in product receiving, inventory, and storage.
• Stocks and rotates frozen items, prepared meats, and fresh meat/seafood in the sales area.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat/seafood and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers, and sales floor.
• Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
• Communicates customer's requests/concerns to management.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
